THE ICARUS LINE» Official website
** TICKETS AVAILABLE ON THE DOOR FROM 7PM **
As a modern echo of the rock & roll terror that was inspired by Black Flag and the Stooges, the Icarus Line offered a screaming wake-up call to the West Coast underground in the late '90s. Their live show is powerful, savage and abusive. It's fucking scary. But there is a joy in being scared. It's a rush, and when you get comfortable with it, you find it's niche, relate to it's void. The Icarus Line's live show is like seeing Satan having a temper tantrum, but knowing he's not mad at you, thus enabling you to enjoy the carnage.
THE BRENT FLOOD» Official website
After getting to the finals of the Nationwide O2 battle of the bands in late 2006 The Brent Flood appeared on Playmusic Magazine's cover-mount CD of the best UK unsigned music and received a full-page four star review shortly thereafter. They have also been nominated and shortlisted for an Indy Award out of a possible 40,000 London bands.
JUNKSTAR» Official website
Hailing from London, but with a distinctly international flavour, JUNKSTAR formed in 2007. The self styled 'junkies' have supported The Others, We are Scientists, Wendy James's Racine and uber-cool Fight Like Apes. They take the pop sensibilities of the Dandy Warhols & Arcade Fire & the urgency of bands like the Klaxons and Placebo as well as soaking up their other main influences & synthesize them into a big brash sexy city swagger, all of their own. Regularly playing venues around Europe including the LA2 Astoria in London, Dublin’s Crawdaddy, the Liverpool Carling Academy and Amsterdam’s P60 festival; Junkstar pull off that precarious trick of delivering a masterclass of sleek hooks whilst providing you with a sound that resonates giddily, just like kissing a pretty girl. Or boy. Or animal.
BANG BANGS» Official website
Bang Bangs are a gang, they play like a gang and they’re the gang you wish you were in. They’re going to draw Sonic Youth comparisons with their 3 boys and 1 girl line up. They’re going to draw Pixies comparisons with their 3 minute wonders of melody, feedback and fuzz. But Bang Bangs are no sound-a-like, copy-cat revivalists. Drawing upon influences from such illustrious forerunners as the Velvet Underground, Gunclub and Nick Cave, the furious energy and boy/girl vocal exchanges of Bang Bangs make them a thrillingly original experience.
